What are Asphalt Roof Shingles?

Asphalt roof shingles remain the most commonly installed type of roofing material in use today.
Asphalt shingles begin with a continuous fiberglass "mat" that forms tensile and tear strength to the shingle. Specially formulated hot asphalt is bonded to the top and bottom of the mat layer to form a waterproof barrier.
Finally, stone granules are embedded into the top layer of asphalt protecting the shingle from degradation, while adding the shingle color & shading that you see.

3-Tab Roof Shingles

A low-cost option for some property owners. Recognizable by their rectangular shape and offset layout, 3-tab roof shingles were dominant until architectural shingles were developed in the 1970s.

1) Mineral Surface Granules / Quartz Anti-Slip Sand
Sangobuild asphalt shingles are covered with CARLAC(CL) natural stone chips which be taken from quarries in French. CL granular have excellent performance for UV resistance and anti-aging, fire resistance and break heat conduction. It could guarantee 100% fadeless.


 

2) Weathering-Grade Modified Asphalt Coating Sangobuild Asphalt Shingle use of modified asphalt, large extension and strong bonding, and higher intake for filler, will bond all the materials together. This makes asphalt shingle resist wind and rain erosion for a long time and keeps product performance in cold and hot weather, and plays a role in moisture resistance oxidation.

3) Fiberglass Mat

Glass fiber reinforcement: Strengthen the carrier to more solid quality, and strengthen the capacity of anti-aging. Sangobuild has two quality of fiberglass that could be chosen: 95g/sqm or 110g/sqm.
