Product Description

Antique Shake Tile
Natural Cedar shakes are incredibly beautiful and unique, but difficult to install expensive and prone to moisture damage. Sangobuild BMC wood shake is one of the alternative roofing materials, synthetic cedar shakes, is a tremendous option.
Our polymer shingles have all of the true to life natural beauty and rustic split textures of real cedar, combined with the incredible benefits of a composite roofing material. When it comes to quality and craftsmanship, no one does it better. We manufacture the best composite shake shingles available.
Our polymer roofing products are made of recycled materials and are fully sustainable. This not only makes the product more durable but also environmentally friendly as well. Our cedar shake alternative is maintenance-free, unlike traditional shake roofing. Throughout the roof's life cycle, you will not have the need to repair or replace individual shakes as you would with real wood.

A synthetic cedar shake roof offers several advantages over natural cedar while maintaining the same rustic beauty.
1. Durability & Longevity
Resistant to rot, mold, and mildew, unlike natural wood.
Lasts 50+ years compared to 20–30 years for natural cedar.
Withstands harsh weather conditions, including heavy rain, snow, and extreme heat.
2. Fire & Impact Resistance
Many synthetic cedar shakes have a Class A fire rating (without needing chemical treatments).
Often rated Class 4 impact-resistant, meaning they can handle hail and debris better than real wood.
3. Low Maintenance
No need for periodic staining, sealing, or treatments.
Won't split, curl, or warp over time like natural cedar.
Resistant to insect damage (termites, carpenter ants, etc.).

4. Lightweight & Easy Installation
Lighter than natural wood or concrete tiles, reducing structural stress on the home.
Often designed for easy interlocking, making installation quicker and more cost-effective.
5. Energy Efficiency & Sustainability
Some brands offer cool roofing options to reflect heat and lower energy costs.
Many synthetic shakes are made from recycled materials, making them an eco-friendly choice.
6. Aesthetic Appeal
Designed to mimic the texture, grain, and weathering of real cedar.
Available in various colors and blends to match different home styles.

How to Install
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started:
Once the roof surface is prepared, you can install cedar shingles.
Step 1: Start with the first row of shingles at the bottom of the roof. Ensure that the shingles are aligned straight and evenly spaced. This will create a foundation for the rest of the shingles.
Step 2: Fasten the shingles using staples or fasteners. Be sure to use the recommended size and type of fastener for your specific cedar shingles.
Step 3: Continue installing the first row of shingles across the entire roof. Once the row is complete, ensure the overhang is uniform, and the shingles are straight.
Step 4: Repeat the process for the second and subsequent rows of shingles. Ensure that each row overlaps the previous row by at least 2 inches. This will provide adequate coverage and prevent leaks.
Step 5: Cut the shingles to fit around vents, chimneys, or other obstacles on the roof. Use a circular saw or handsaw to make the cuts. Ensure that the shingles fit snugly around the obstacle to prevent water penetration.
Step 6: Install a ridge cap at the top of the roof to provide a finished look and to protect against water penetration. Use the same technique as the shingles to install the ridge cap.
