It used to be that there were only a couple of types of metal roofing - corrugated metal, which has certainly improved over time but aesthetically has always been limited in options, or the much more costly copper cladding.

RAW MATERIALS INTRODUCTION

Part 1: Alu-zinc (Galvalume) Steel
The coating composition is 55% aluminum in weight ratio (80% surface volume ratio), 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon.

All Sangobuild® roof products are manufactured from alu-zinc steel which has been shown in tests to last 6-9 times longer than ordinary galvanized steel roofing products.

This is achieved by protecting the steel core with zinc, which is itself protected by an aluminum barrier. (It's not PPGI Galvanized, but PPGL Galvalume, which is MORE DURABLE with extreme weather conditions resistances.)

There's an ANTI-FINGERPRINT layer on the back sheet, which could provide good resistance to the finger printings.

How do I choose the right materials to avoid of getting rusted? 

1. Coastal Areas: In salt-laden coastal environments with high humidity, opt for anti-corrosive roofing tiles to withstand the corrosive effects of salt and moisture.

2. Industrial Areas: For areas with potential chemical emissions or pollutants in the air, choose anti-corrosive roofing tiles to protect against corrosion.

3. High Rainfall Regions: In areas with heavy rainfall and high moisture content, select roofing tiles that can resist rust and deterioration caused by constant exposure to water.

4. Harsh Weather Conditions: If your location experiences severe weather conditions like hurricanes, storms, or extreme temperature fluctuations, go for anti-corrosive roofing tiles that offer enhanced durability.

In cases where these factors apply, Sangobuild stone coated steel roof tiles with AZ150 (GSM150) zinc coating can solve your concerns. The zinc coating sacrificially protects the underlying metal, and the aluminum forms a dense layer of aluminum oxide when the zinc wears out, preventing further corrosion. The protective coating of acrylic resin and natural stone chips adds an extra barrier against corrosion, safeguarding the metal from moisture, chemicals, and environmental elements.

STONE GRANULES - WHY SANGOBUILD STONE COATED ROOFS NOT FADED?

There are two kinds of stone granules in the market. 

One is PRE-PAINTED (DYED) stone granules; this is the use of paints to coat natural stone.

These granules are very bright mostly when new! But the lifespan is limited to about 2-3 years. Fading is visible after the first few weeks past installation. Other manufacturers use painted stone which quickly changes color due to UV and come off easily due to low-quality basecoats.

The other one is SINTERED STONE GRANULES. Original chips mined from natural basalt. It is the most advanced technology the chips for stone coated roofing sheets. Sintering is the process of compacting and forming a solid mass of material by heat or pressure without melting it to the point of liquefaction. Acrylic Glue
You may use the best stone chips in the world but if your adhesive is weak, you stand no chance. Your stone chips will definitely flake off.

Sangobuild's acrylic coat can remain a class apart from all competition. If the acrylic coat is too thin, it won't adhere as well.

The key property required of any roof coating material is durability. Durability implies resistance to the effects of UV degradation from the sun.
